IR-64 Parboiled Rice : Specifications, Grades, Prices & Import Overview

IR-64 Parboiled Rice is a widely traded long-grain non-basmati rice, processed using the Sella (parboiling) method. It is commonly exported to West Africa and GCC countries, where it supports bulk distribution, catering services, and public procurement systems. The rice is generally available in 5% and 25% broken grades, in creamy and golden shades.

This variety plays a central role in the international rice trade. While IR-64 determines the grain size, the hydrothermal treatment improves its cooking stability. Measuring around 5.8 mm to 6.2 mm, the grains cook firm, separate, and uniform—well suited for high-volume consumption.
